Determining the optimal construction method for basements using the Analytic Hierarchy Process

In the construction industry, there are two methods for constructing basements (Top-Down) and (Bottom-UP). The difference between them lies in sequence of works, since (Bottom-Up) method end excavation work is necessary condition beginning substructure construction, this different from (Top Down) where superstructure carried out parallel, which significantly reduces project duration but at same time increases cost. Also a terms use each these methods, example, it preferable to dense urban areas, not enough space concerns that adjacent buildings may be deformed as result what cannot provide. order determine optimal mathematical point view, 7 main criteria 25 sub-criteria were identified, Analytic Hierarchy Process was used solve multi-criteria problem. Using Expert Choice software, we found preferred by 14.8% more than (Bottom-Up), sensitivity analysis performed dominated our result.
